Kufr

There are many types of kufr, some big, some small, kufr is kufr nonetheless.

What is kufr?
Kufr in the Arabic language is to cover or conceal something.

In shari'ah terms it is “not believing in Allaah and His Messenger, whether that is accompanied by denial or it is not accompanied by denial but rather doubt, or turning away from faith out of jealousy or arrogance, or because one is following whims and desires that prevent one from following the message. So kufr is the attribute of everyone who rejects something that Allaah has commanded us to believe in, after news of that has reached him, whether he rejects it in his heart without uttering it, or he speaks those words of rejection without believing it in his heart, or he does both; or he does an action which is described in the texts as putting one beyond the pale of faith.”

See Majmoo’ al-Fataawa by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, 12/335; al-Ihkaam fi Usool al-Ahkaam by Ibn Hazam, 1/45.

Glorious Qur'an

وَمَكَرُواْ وَمَكَرَ اللّهُ وَاللّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ

And they (disbelievers) plotted  and Allâh plotted too. And Allâh is the Best of those who plot.

What did you call me???

Definition of Hypocrite :
1. A pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.

2. A pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.

3. An act or instance of hypocrisy.

Lets take a second to think of the intention behond our actions....
Do we do what we do to show others? So they can look at you and say 'Oh MashAllah look at that person, look how well they did ruku' or 'how long they stood for in salaah'

Who are we doing all these good deeds for? For others to see?

Showing off is one of the major sins - its is SHIRK!

There are 3 signs of showing off (riyaa) are:
1) Love of praise
2) Fear of criticism
3) Greed of people's possessions

Clear your intention before you start any action, make sure you do it for the sake of Allah the almighty.

Remember this form of shirk is more hidden than a black ant crawling on a dark stone in a moonless night!

O Allah! We seek refuge in You from associating partners with you while we are aware of it and we seek forgiveness from You for that which we are unaware of

Khushu

How much Khushu do we have in our salaah?
The sahaaba Urwa bin Al-Zubeir had some illness in his leg and he was told by the doctors of the time that that had to amputate it in order to stop the illness from spreading.

He was offered medication in order to lessen the pain, he asked them if it will make him drowsy or the such, and he was told the medication was a form of alcohol, so Urwa refused to take it.
Rather he told them to amputate his leg when he started his salaah.

He started his salaah and the doctors cut off his leg, he prayed like it was just another prayer…
Subhanallah, he had his leg cut off, let me repeat, his leg was cut off and he had nothing to numb the pain expect salaah.
SO much concentration that he didnt feel the pain
Yet here if panic when we see a spider on the prayer mat…

Oh Allah increase our khushu in our salaah, make us of the muttaqoon. Ameen

Its the month of Mercy

Ramadhaan is the month of mercy!!

All the big shayateen are locked away,
The gates of Jannah are open and the gates of An-Naar are closed,
It is when Hasanaat (rewards) are multiplied
It is a month whose beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness and its end is redemption from the Fire.

“And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allaah’s forgiveness, he will find Allaah Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”
[al-Nisa’ 4:110]

Dont waste this precious month, you may not be here for the next Ramadhaan!

Glorious Qur'an

“ O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (pious)
[al-Baqarah 2:183]

Do not grieve...

The Prophet, may peace and belssings be upon him said:

If this world were worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, He would not have given the disbelievers  (even) a drink of water

SubhanAllah!! Look at how we go crazy about this world, wanting the latest shoes or having the latest gadgets, and for what??
Grieve not over this world but for what you might lose out on the hereafter!!

Hadith

Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen: a people with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they beat the people, and women who are clothed but naked, walking with an enticing gait and with their heads looking like the humps of camels, leaning to one side. They will not enter Paradise and will not even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be detected from such and such a distance.”

Hand of Fatima

The hand of Fatima also known as Khamsa (خمسة) is Arabic is apparently a ‘favourite Muslim talisman’ according to the wonderful Wikipedia.  It is a talisman that is found in jewellery such as charm bracelets or hung on walls to protect oneself form evil eye.

The talisman is palm shaped, usually has an eye in the middle of and is almost always blue in colour.

Talismans and charms are haram in Islam and we as Muslims should all know this. It is haram to believe that a talisman will protect you or that a rabbit foot will bring you good luck or that if you break a mirror you will get 7 years bad luck or that a four leaf clover will bring good luck or the horse shoe or the knocking on wood will prevent something bad form happening…….

How is that even possible?? How on earth can a rabbits foot give good luck, it’s a rabbits foot for crying out loud, the foot of a dead rabbit. It just doesn’t make sense. And how does the hand of Fatima protect you from evil eye? How?

Watch yourselves of these things, they may seem small and completely insignificant to ones deen but believing in talismans is shirk.

And shirk is the biggest sin and the only sin that Allah doesn’t forgive.

Girlies watchout when you are buying jewellery, these days the charm bracelet is a popular piece of jewellery, sometimes the hand of Fatima is on t-shirts and clothes but in a subtle design
Save yourselves from any form of shirk.

May Allah protect us all form the evils of the shayateen and may he guide us and keep us on the straight path.
Ameen
